Where is the Best Place to Buy Gluten Free Food

More local grocery stores have begun carrying a selection of Gluten Free options. But, sometimes their selections are limited and can be over-priced. When looking for a special ingredient or stocking our Gluten Free panty, we typically find the best selection and prices online... Here are few of our favorite places to shop online:

Looking for just Local Shopping options? Check out our post about 'The BEST Local Gluten Free Grocery Stores' over here.

    Amazon

PROS: Amazon has a lot of Gluten Free food options. Sometimes you can save even more with their Subscribe & Save options. Get it delivered in as fast as 1 day if you're an Amazon Prime member.

CONS: Not always the cheapest option. Also, if its not sold directly from Amazon (or Whole Foods), you risk buying it from a 3rd party seller - where quality control can become an issue.

    Azure Standard

PROS: Azure is a family owned company who offers a wonderful selection of name brand Gluten Free Foods. Their prices are competitive, although not always the cheapest. They offer a full range of perishable items. We love their bulk pantry items, which are often cheaper than all the other options. Pickup days are a family favorite!

CONS: Only delivers once a month to a designated 'drop' in certain areas - This can be a hassle if you need something right away. Sometimes they have stock issues and you don't know until the last minute if your item will be shipping. Can be more expensive depending on the item(s).

    Hive

PROS: Hive is a unique online store that offers a range of grocery and household brands that have been vetted for their sustainability and social impact. There are no membership fees. Orders over $50 ship free. Prices are mostly competitive. Get 20% off your first order & a free gift when you try Hive today!

CONS: Limited selection of brands and options. There's sometimes a steep cost trade-off for shopping brands that don't compromise quality & values. However, you can offset some of this with their Subscribe & Save option.

    Thrive Market

PROS: Thrive Market is kind of like the Costco of clean eating. They have options for every special diet imaginable - including Gluten Free. Most items are sold at a good price, especially their house brand. They often run promotions which includes free full-sized products with your order. Get 25% off your first order & a free gift when you try Thrive Market today!

CONS: Membership based ($59.95/yr or $9.99/mo). Limited perishable items and no bulk buying options. Limited brand selections. Minimum $49 orders for free shipping.

    Vitacost

PROS: Vitacost is like having a health food store at your fingertips. They carry a ton of Gluten Free brands (except perishable items). They run frequent sales and almost always have the best price on Gluten Free Foods. Shipping is usually pretty darn fast.

CONS: They don't stock items in bulk (although you can always buy multiples of an item). They are owned by Kroger, so sometimes packages come from multiple warehouses.
